Orson Finch, 78, a long time resident of Hawarden, died at the hospital here last Wednesday after a long illness.

He was born September 20, 1876, at Montour, Iowa, and came to Hawarden as a youth. For a number of years he farmed and later was a barber at Alcester.

He is survived by the widow, Della; a daughter, Mrs. Opal House of Inglewood, California; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon in the Barnard Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Williams of the First Baptist Church officiating. Ernest Packard with Mrs. P.W. Peters as accompanist sng “Beyond the Sunset” and “Face to Face”
