Malvina Biever Homan
Mrs. Malvina Homan, age 88, of Alton, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 1994 at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. The Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Reicks officiated. Interment followed at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Malvina was born Oct. 17, 1906 at Sheldon, the daughter of Charles W. and Mary Magdalena (Wilwert) Hentges. She was the granddaughter of Hospers pioneers Theodore and Margaretha
(Kremer) Hentges. As a young child, "Molly" and her family moved to Alton where she graduated
from St. Mary's Academy. She then attended the Sacred Heart Nursing School at LeMars and became a home nurse.

In 1931 she married Alphonse B. Biever at Alton. He died in 1946 at Alton. In 1954 she married Julius Homan at Alton. He died in 1968 at Orange City. In October of this year she became a resident of the Heritage House. Mrs. Homan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her son, Duane Biever of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; daughter, Opal Chaussende-Bardoux of Paris, France; three grandchildren, Jeanne Biever, and Sophie and Alain Chaussende; a sister, Pearl Krogman; and a brother, Carl Hentges, both of Alton.
