Funeral services were held at the Christian Reformed church in Hospers at 1:30 p.m. Saturday,
December 26, for Nick Beimers, 87, a resident of Hospers since 1920, who passed away at the
Sheldon Community hospital December 22.

Services were conducted by the Rev. C. R. Veenstra and burial was made in the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Beimers was born in the Netherlands March 14, 1877, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1903. He married in 1911 to Katherine Woudstra At Sioux Center. Mrs. Beimers died March 29, 1929. In 1932 he married Mrs. Florence Statema at Sanborn. She preceded him in death in 1954.

Survivors include three brothers, Ed of Sioux Center, Paul of Sibley, Gerrit of Downey CA as sister, Mrs. Bertha Beimers, of the Netherlands. Four Brothers and two sister preceded him in death. Also surviving him are the following step children: Fannie (Mrs. John Vegter) of Delavan WI, Henry Statema of Kenosha WI, Charlie and Pete Statema of Chicago. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and one great great grand child.
