Funeral services were held Sat. Jan. 22 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Hull for Mrs. Herman Schuett, 71, who died early Thursday morning in the Sheldon hospital after a lingering illness.

The Rev. A. H. Fritschel officiated at the services. Mrs. and Mrs. Arnold Tiedeman sang two hymns "Just as I Am" and "Abide with Me".

Burial was in the St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery.
Pall bearers were Henry Breuer, Raymond Drenkow, H. Wm. Sohl, Martin Woelber, Emil Breuer, and Jake Zoet. Kraai Funeral Home of Hull is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Sophie Alma Schuett, nee Hagenah, was born April 29, 1894 at Hamelweerden, Germany, a daughter of John and Anna Hagenah. As an infant of two weeks, on May 14, 1894 she was brought to the Lord Jesus in Holy Baptism, and was confirmed in the Lutheran parish of her homeland on April 16, 1908, by the Pastor H. N. Schmidt.
As a young lady of 17 years she came to America, coming to this community, and remained here throughout the rest of her life.

On Feb. 2, 1916 she was united in marriage to Herman Schuett by Pastor Paul Bunge. Thereafter she and her husband lived and farmed in Garfield township, Lyon county.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away May 12, 1963. Since that time she has made her home with her two daughters until Dec. 7, 1965 when she entered the Pleasant Acres Rest Home at Hull. However her strength rapidly waned. On last Wed. she was taken to Sheldon Community Hospital where she passed away on Thurs. morning Jan.20th at 3:00 a.m. at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 21 days.

The deceased was a life-long member of the Lutheran church, and since coming to this community a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Hull.

She leaves to mourn her death her four children, Helmuth Schuett of Hull, Erhardt Schuett of Rock Rapids, Netty (Mrs. Lawrence Woelber) of George, and Betty (Mrs. Walter Goeringer) of Hull; also eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild; also three sisters, Elisa, Augusta, and Betty and one brother John, all who reside in Germany; and many more distant relatives as well as a host of friends.
