From the Rock Valley Bee, November 12, 192:

DEATH OF MARGARET CZEPULL

Margaret Czepul[l] died at her home in Rock Valley Saturday night, November 6, after a prolonged illness of several months, her death being due to a tumor of the brain.

The subject of this sketch was born in Rock Valley, April 18, 1902, and was eighteen years, five months and eighteen days old. Her entire life was spent in Rock Valley where she grew up and received her education. Her untimely death, although expected, was nevertheless a great shock to her mother and brother[s] and sisters. Her father died several years ago.

Everything that medical skill and tender care could do was done for her, but the disease was of such a nature that it would not yield to treatment. She leaves her mother and four brothers and two [i.e., three] sisters. The brothers are Henry, George, Rudolph and Oscar. The sisters are Agness, Olga and Martha.

Funeral services were held at the late home of the deceased Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Bostick of the Methodist Church, and the remains were taken to Valley View Cemetery for burial. The bereaved relatives have the sincere sympathy of many friends.

An obituary in the Alton Democrat, Rock Valley news (November 13) contains substantially the same information, but spells her name Margrethe, says she was the daughter of Mrs. Carl Czepule, and died Sunday November 7. It characterized her as "an excellent young lady" with "many admirable traits of character. She was modest and unassuming, reserved, but well liked by her associates and friends."

The Sioux County Cemetery Index gives her as Margaret (and misspells her surname Czerull).
