Funeral services for Ted Ericson, 71, of Ruthven, Minnesota, brother of Eldon Ericson of Hawarden and former long time farmer in this vicinity, who died Friday night in a hospital in Minneapolis, were held at 11 o’clock Tuesday at Ruthven and at 2:30 that afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Hawarden.

Reverend Paul Williams officiated at the services in Hawarden and burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery here. The Ruthven rites were held in the Baptist Church.

Mr. Ericson, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Ericson, was born August 8, 1886, on a farm homestead by his parents southeast of Alcester. He was baptized into the Baptist faith.

He was united in marriage on March 31, 1909 with Anna Marie Anderson. To this union was born one daughter, Edna, now Mrs. Fred Meinjohans of Florence, Minnesota.

In 1944 Mr. and Mrs. Ericson moved from Alcester to their home near Ruthven. Mr. Ericson entered the clinic in Minneapolis for observation July 3. He later entered Doctor’s Memorial Hospital where he submitted to surgery July 25.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were one sister (Mabel) Mrs. Helmer Leafstedt, and a brother, Jalmer. Survivors include the widow and daughter; three brothers, Arnold of Isanti, Minnesota, Albert of Silverton, Oregon, and Eldon of Hawarden.
