After an illness of several months, H. J. Luymes passed away Tuesday morning. Deceased was born nearly eighty-nine years ago in Holland and in 1856 came with his family to this country and settled near Pella. At the time this colony was settled the Luymes family came and has since made this their home. Of the nine children born to them the three who survive are Mrs. M. Moret of Sioux City, Mrs. W. Moret of Boyden and Teunis of this place. Decedent's wife died twenty-six years ago and since that time he has lived with his children. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at the Christian church, services being conducted by Rev. Timmerman.

Mrs. Moret and daughter Maggie of Sioux city arrived here Wednesday. They will attend the funeral of Mrs. Moret's father and then return home.
