Catherine Mary Menke, age 87, of Hull, Iowa formerly of Sutherland, Iowa died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be prior to the service at the Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Catherine Mary Ruby was born February 11, 1929 in rural Gaza, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Kelly) Ruby.
On November 19, 1947, Catherine was united in marriage to Clarence Menke in Worthington, Minnesota. Together they had two children, Wesley and Debbie.
In 1953, Catherine was baptized at St. Paul Methodist Church in Cherokee. She was currently a member of the Methodist Church in Sheldon, Iowa. Catherine also participated in the Women’s Club at the Methodist Church in Sheldon.
Catherine enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, and reading.
Those left to cherish her memory include two children, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild, one brother, three sisters, extended family and friends.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, sister-in-law, and two brothers-in-law.
