Funeral services for Miss Leila Earll, 60, who died suddenly while in Hirschman’s K & K store from a heart attack Friday afternoon, were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church. Reverend F.B. Morse officiated with burial at Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Glenn Carpenter, Willis Frank, Elmer Ericson, Don Dowdey, Harry Kratochvil and Don Heumphreus.

Harold Vander School was the soloist with Carlyann Packard at the organ.

Miss Earll was born on December 16, 1903, near Ireton, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Earll. The family later moved to Hawarden where she graduated from high school.

Miss Earll taught school several years later becoming children’s librarian at the Hawarden public library from which she retired about a year ago.

She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include three brothers, Elmer of Hawarden, Wayne of Canton, South Dakota, and Berton of Des Moines, and a sister, Mrs. O. L. Grantham of Plainview, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
