Albert G. Earley, 88, a long time resident of Hawarden and vicinity, died Friday at his home.

A son of Peter and Maria Earley, was born at Newton, Iowa, July 21, 1864. At. an early age he came to this community and later taught school for about 20 years. As a youth he was interested in baseball, playing professionally with various teams.

He married Miss Mary Alice McNally November 15, 1907, and to this union four children were born. He and his wife located on a farm seven miles south of Hawarden 42 years ago where they lived until 10 years ago when he retired and came to Hawarden to live.

Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Flossie Parkinson of Redfield, Iowa. And Mrs. Ellen Berglund of Hawarden; a son, Frank of Primghar, Iowa; seven grandchildren and a niece, Faye Clements of Hamiliton, Iowa. A daughter, Mary Delores, preceded him in death.

The Rosary was said at the Frazier Funeral Home. Solemn Requiem High Mass was celebrated at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning in St. Mary’s Church by Reverend Father R.Z. Reising of Alton and Reverend Father Joe Dalhoff of Granville. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Henry Vander Hamm of Akron, Dave Skogman, William Kelley, Austin Muth, John McManaman and Fred Parkinson of Hawarden.

Out of town relatives and friends who came for the funeral were Faye Clements of Hamilton, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Lynott of Sioux City, Mrs. John White of Ida Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard McMahon and Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Vander Hamm of Akron, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hendricks of Alcester and Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Elliott of Le Mars.
