Last Monday morning at about seven o’clock the soul of Mrs. W.H. Bradford passed to the beautiful beyond. Mrs. Bradford had just returned from a visit to her old home at Harold, South Dakota, when she was stricken with peritonitis and after an illness of only five days passed away.

Faith Summerside was born at Necedah, Wisconsin, and was 24 years of age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Summerside and moved to South Dakota with her parents when a child, Mr. Summerside having been a resident of that state for eighteen years, giving his services to the people three terms in the legislature and otherwise identifying himself with the progress of the state.

Faith was a graduate of Mitchell College, where she first met Mr. Bradford, and the young couple were married June 7, 1899, and came immediately to Hawarden to make their home. She was of a sweet, lovable nature and had won many friends in her brief living among us. Desolate indeed is the home she has left.

Our hearts go out in sympathy to the young husband and the little four months old daughter who will never know a mother’s love. The funeral services were held from the house Wednesday at ten o’clock and all that was mortal of Faith Summerside Bradford was laid to rest in the Grace Hill Cemetery.

The following relatives from aboard were here to attend the funeral: William Summerside and wife of Harold, South Dakota, father and mother of the deceased; Reverend L. Bradford and wife of Manilla, Iowa, father and mother of the bereaved husband; Mrs. A.E. St. John of Brookings, South Dakota, and Mrs. A.E. Merrill and daughter, Ellen, of Minneapolis.
