Services to be Friday For Mr. John De Jong
Funeral services for Mr. John De Jong, 81, retired Boyden contractor, who passed away at the Sheldon hospital after a long illness, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, at the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden. The Rev. M- L. Camp will officiate. Interment will be at the Boyden cemetery under the director of the Vander Ploeg funeral home.

Mr. De Jong was born March 7, 1884, in The Netherlands. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Henry De Jong of George, Iowa, and Bernard De Jong of Des Moines; three daughters, Miss Jeanette and Miss Unice both of Boyden and Mrs. T. De Jong of Anaheim, California; two brothers, Bouke in The Netherlands, and Jake of Imgelwood, California, a sister in The Netherlands and seven grandchildren

(In the 1925 Iowa census is listed John De Jong age 40 son of Hette De Jong and Fopje Tunenburg, wife was Kate Beuskens (spelling?) age 39 dau of Fred Beuskens and Ulkje Haagema, children Henry 11, Jeanette 10, Fred 8, Bernard 6 and Unice 1.
