Mrs. Jim Ver Hoef died at her home two miles west of town Tuesday evening from pneumonia and pleurisy. She had been sick only a few days but the fever was so strong that she had to give up. A trained nurse from Sioux City was in attendance with Dr. Stoehr and Dr. Meyers but all medical aid could not relieve her a particle. Mrs. Ver Hoef leaves a husband and five children to mourn her departure and also a father and mother and three sisters and eight brothers. It's sad but those who are called must go at the appointed hour. We deeply sympathize with the bereaved husband and children.

MRS. JAMES VERHOEF.
After an illness lasting four days, Mrs. James VerHoef died at her home south of Boyden last Tuesday evening, of lung fever and pleurisy. Mrs. VerHoef took to her bed Saturday and her fever raised to 105 degrees and the best doctors and a nurse were secured, but the disease had too good a hold and peacefully and quietly breathed her last. She knew as soon as she took to her bed that he life was near to its end but she was not afraid to go. She had her confidence in Him “who doeth all things well" and her only desire was to take her seven months old baby along.
