Orange City Resident Passes On
Mrs. Kate De Cook, 78, passed away at the Grossmann hospital on Tuesday, April 20. Funeralservices were held at the Trinity Ref. Church Thursday afternoon with Rev. C. Boonstra officiating. Interment was made at Orange City. Surviving are her son Richard and family in Detroit, Mich, and one brother, Dingeman Ver Steeg of Orange City. Preceding her in death are the sisters: Mrs. Dena Sterrenburg, Mrs. Gt. Van Marel, Mrs. Sam Tinkelenburg, the brothers: Dick Ver Steeg, John Ver Steeg all of this vicinity at the time of their passing and Nick Verteeg of Hancock, Minnesota.

(In the 1940 census she was the head of the household and divorced. Her husband was believed to have been Peter De Cook)
