Mrs. Laura Degen, 80, of Hawarden, Iowa died August 4, 1971 in the Hawarden Hospital. Funeral was at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 7, in the American Lutheran Church, Hawarden, with Pastor Ray (Oyens?) conducted the service. The Dow Funeral Home was in charge of the I arrangements.

Mrs. Degen is the former Laura Anderson, .born Oct. 4, 1890, in Norway. She came to Sioux City at
the age of 2. Graduated at Sioux City High She married A. J. Degen of Chatsworth, Iowa. They moved to Hawarden in 1934. Mr. Degen preceded her in death in 1935.

Survivors: Sons: William of Long Beach, California; Lloyd of Manhattan Beach, California, Norman of Hawarden; Daughter: Mrs. Edd (Carol) McGregor of Salem, S. D. Two brothers, Eiler Anderson of Seattle, Washington and Val Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska. Sisters, Julia and Doris Anderson of Sioux City; Mrs. Ed (Pauline) Brandt, Baltimore, Md, IS grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild.
