Last Rites Held At Doon April 16 For Arie Boersma
Funeral services were held at Doon on April 16 for Arie Boersma in the Doon Reformed church at 1:30 p. m. with the Rev. Thomas Zylstra officiating. Mr. Boersma died at Sioux Center on April 12. He was born in Friesland, the Netherlands, on May 4, 1885, coming to this country at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Dora, two daughters, Mrs. Bartle Soodsma (Agnes) of Doon and Mrs. John Westsleyn (Mathilda) of Ripon, Calif., three sons, Theodore, of Doon, Dick of Ripon, Ca., and William of Escalon, Ca, three sisters living in the Netherlands, 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Assisting the Rev. Zylstra at the funeral was the Rev. A. A. Dykstra. A quartette, consisting, of Mrs. B. Zigtema, Mrs. D. Boscaljon, W. Niemeyer and D. Keizer sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought." Miss Ferno Keizer was at the organ. The audience sang Dutch psalms with Mrs. J. Keizer at the organ.

Interment was in the Doon, Township cemetery. Bearers included William Boscaljon, Joe Keizer, Walter Niemeyer, Dick Smit, Sam Van Ketel and Barney Zigtema.
