Mrs. Mary Wissink, age 64, of Orange City, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at the Orange City Area Health System.
There will be a memorial service on Monday, July 18, at 10:30am, at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. John Klompien and the Rev. Aldon Kuiper will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. There will be a prayer service on Monday, at 9:30am, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.
Visitation will be after 3:00pm on Sunday, with the family present from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, at the funeral home.
Mary Jane was born on August 28, 1951, in Orange City, the daughter of James Marion and JoHanna (Van Gelder) Hofland. She was raised at Orange City, where she received her Bachelor’s degree at Northwestern College. She also attended the Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon.
On November 19, 1971, she married Milton Lee Wissink in Orange City. They made their home in Orange City. She was currently employed by the Neal Chase Lumber Company in Orange City, involved in clerical accounting and kitchen design.
Mary was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church.
She was care giver to her aunt, Agnes Van Gelder. She served on the Queen’s court of a Tulip Festival, and she enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband of more than 44 years, Milt; two daughters and their husbands, Stacia and Josh Rath, of North Liberty; and CeAnn and Donovan Draayer, of Little Elm, Texas; seven grandchildren, Elijah, Navaeh, and Priscilla Rath; and Landon, Adalyn, Brodyn, and Cason Draayer; a brother and his wife, Chuck and Anita Hofland, of Hospers; three half-sisters and their husbands, Hope and Aaron Kreykes, Marilyn and Jeremiah Straub, and Andrea and Brad Wielenga; and a half-brother and his wife, Loren and Amy Hofland.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials will be directed to Alzheimers Research.
