DIRK BOS; A COUNTY PIONEER PASSES

Mr. Dirk Bos one of our pioneers died on Friday morning last week at 6 A.M. Mr. Bos had reached the age of 72 years and the immediate cause of his disease was pneumonia.

Surviving are his widow, Wichertje "Winnie" (Sneller) Bos and 7 children: Mrs. Dirk Van Bree, Richard, Mrs. Jurrien Timmer, Mrs. Peter Van Regenmorter, Mrs. Herman Wissink, Mrs. Ray Van Deest and Miss Coba. All the children live in this vicinity. A brother John, and a sister who still lives in the Netherlands also survive.

The funeral was held from the First Reformed Church on Monday and interment was made in the local cemetery.

Among those coming from a distance to attend the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bos of Sanborn, William Doeksen, Rock Rapids, Ralph Swartz of Rock Rapids, Dick Van Kley and son Jake of Sheldon, Mr. and Mrs. Koele from Alton and Mrs. George Van Peursem, Jr. of Maurice.
