Mrs. Fred Born, nee Fenne Van Zalen, died Saturday morning at the age of forty-three years. She was suffering for several years, while her illness grew worse about five weeks ago.

In the year 1892 she came to this country from Leewarden, Netherlands and in September of that year married Fred Born. They lived in Breda, Iowa, about eighteen years, moving to Nebraska where they resided for one year, and moving to this town three years ago.

There are five daughters, Anna, Hannah, Maggie, Hilda and Nellie, all at home. She is also survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Van Zalen of this place, and three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Tebbin of Carnarvon, Iowa, Mrs. Qurck of Shaller, Iowa, Mrs. Steinblock of Sheldon, and A. Van Donselaar of New York.

Funeral services were held at one o'clock at the home and two o'clock at the Christian Reformed Church.
