William De Boer
William T. "Bill" De Boer, 89, a resident of the Sioux Center Hospital Nursing Wing, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Harold Lenters officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens, Sioux Center.

Mr. De Boer was born Dec. 7, 1902, in Hull, Iowa. He attended rural schools in the Hull and Doon areas. He farmed in the Alvord, Orange City and Sioux Center areas until his retirement in 1968. From that time he lived in Sioux Center and worked for a few years as groundskeeper at the Sioux Center Golf Course. He moved to the Homestead in 1980 and to the hospital wing in 1984. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center.

Survivors include a sister and her husband, Jeannette and James Schilt of Fresno, Calif.; two nieces, Alfreda Verdoorn of Ashton, Iowa, and Jeannette Juffer of Sibley, Iowa; two nephews, John Juffer of Sibley and Marlin Schilt of Fresno. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
