MRS JOE BOMGAARS (NEE BERDENA VAN SURKSUM)Mrs. Joe Bomgaars passed away at her home Saturday morning at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 14 days after a lingering illness. She was born in the Netherlands on July 14, 1869 and came to America with her parents at the age of three years.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Joe Bomgaars in 1889 and to this union four sons were born, namely: Marinus of Leroy, California and Garrett of Bellflower, California, Arie and John of Middleburg. Her husband preceded her in death April 13, 1929.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday with Reverend Kolenbrander and Reverend Mansen officiating.
Mrs. Bomgaars was an invalid and confined to a wheel chair for 12 years. In spite of her illness she was ever cheerful and very active in handwork.
