Sioux county relatives and friends were greatly shocked Saturday to hear of the death of Atty. Charles Dealy of Pipestone, Minn., who passed away at 1:00 p. m., Saturday August 6, following a brief illness of appendicitis and complications. Mr. Dealy became violently ill while returning from a business trip to Minneapolis and although he underwent two operations and everything that medical skill
could do was done for him his life was despaired of from the first and he passed away quietly at the age of 43 years, 7 months and 16 days, Charles Owen Dealy was born Dec. 21, 18SS on' a farm near Ireton.

He was the son of the late William and Bridget A. Dealy. He grew to manhood near Ireton and in 1915 graduated with honors from the law department of Iowa University. Upon being admitted to the bar he settled at Webster City, Iowa, where he remained until Nov 1916, when he moved to Pipestone where he had since resided. While at the university he became a member of the Phi Kappa and Phe Delta Phi law fraternity and a member of the Order of the Coif. He was also a member of the Pipestone council Knights of Columbus. Mr. Dealy was county attorney of Pipestone county for eight years.

On Oct 31 1916 he was untied in marriage with Miss Olive Bills of Jefferson IA, also a graduate of the state university. To this union 3 children were born, Charles Owen Jr. 14, Cecily 12 and Mary Olive 10 who with the widow survive. He also leaves to mourn his loss, six brothers, Hugh R., Edward L., Wm. C., Dr. B. M., and Joseph. L. Dealy, all of Sioux City, and J. Frank Dealy of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Lynott. of Sioux City. His mother passed away on June 5th of this year.

Funeral services were held at Pipestone, Tuesday morning. Interment took place in the Catholic cemetery at Pipestone.
