Former I. P. S. Manager Dies At Mitchell

Funeral services for Roy( Boots) Hillmer, 59, longtime resident of Rock Valley and vicinity, who died Saturday in a Mitchell, S. D. hospital, were held at 5:30 p. m., Wednesday at the Vander Ploeg funeral home in Rock Valley and at 2:00 p. m. at the Methodist church. Rev. Nelson Price officiated with burial being In the Valley View cemetery.
Mr. Hillmer was born in Sioux Center July 21,1896. He was employed by the Iowa Public Service Co. for 37 years, starting as local manager at Sioux Center in June of 1919. He moved to Stickney, S. D. seven years ago and has been hospitalized at Mitchell five and one half years.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Esther Miller and Mrs. Mabelle Steinfeldt, both of Stickney, Mr. Hillmer was a cousin of Mrs. Leo Grossenberg and Mrs. Charles Gayer.
