MRS. M. FOUHSE PASSES AWAY AT HER HOME HERE
Early Settler Was 88 Years of Age

Louise Christena Versluis was born in July, 1854, at St. Armandsburg, province of Burgemeester, Netherlands. She came to this country in 1882 where she remained the rest of her life. In 1879, she was married to Charles De May. Two children were born to the couple--Fred and Mary, both of whom preceded their mother in death. Her husband passed away in 1884. In 1888 she was united in marriage to Michael Foushe and to this union two children were born--Emma, and a child who died in infancy. Emma also preceded her mother in death, and Mr. Foushe passed away in 1932.

The deceased is survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The grandchildren are Dorothy Wilhelmi, Sioux City; Angeline, Bay City, Mich.; Clarence, Bellflower, Calif.; Leo and Francis De Zoete, Bellflower; Catherine De Zoete, Rock Valley; and Mrs. Louise Murphy, Hull.

Mrs. Foushe was a faithful member of the Catholic church all her life. She attended Holy Mass until she became bedridden about eight months ago. She passed quietly away at her home here Sunday morning and funeral services are being held this Wednesday morning at St. Mary's church.
