Mrs. Cornie Blom, 86, of Orange City died Monday in a nursing home in Orange City of a long illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Reformed Church at Orange City. The Reverend Donald R. Lenderink officiated. Burial was in Newkirk Cemetery, rural Orange City, under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jennie Blom was born to Fred and Hendrika Tesselink at Hellendoorn, Overisel; the Netherlands, on April 5, 1894. They came to the United States when she was 10 years old. They settled at Hospers.

She was married to Cornie Blom on January 8, 1913, at Newkirk. They spent most of their married life around Newkirk. Her husband died in 1956.

To this union were born, five children: John C. of Newkirk; Fred of LeMars; Alvin of San Antonio, Texas; Vera (Mrs. Al Simmons), now deceased, of Kirkland, Washington; and Maryann (Mrs. Ralph Michaud) of Sacramento, California. Mrs. Blom moved to Orange City 24 years ago.

She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church.

She leaves to mourn her death three sons, one daughter, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Fritz Bloemendaal of Slayton, Minnesota, and Mrs. Arie Reekers of Hospers.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her daughter, two great-grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
