Jacob Haagsma 74, of Sanborn, died Friday at a hospital in Primghar.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Christian Reformed Church at Sanborn with Rev. Stuart Pastine officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery under direction of Sanborn Funeral Home.
Mr. Haagsma was born Oct. 16, 1911, at Sanborn, was raised and attended school in the Sanborn area. He married Fannie Bosch on Aug. 29, 1941 in Sioux Center. He was engaged in farming until 1979 when he retired and moved to town.
He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church and served as an elder in the consistory. Mr. Haagsma also served on the Christian School Board, Western Christian School Board, and Dordt College Board.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Vern of Pella; one brothers, Dick of Grand Rapids, MI; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Jessie) Beimers of Sibley, and Mrs. Birdie Dummett of Sanborn; and three grandchildren.
