Clarence "Cal" Scott 66, of Moville died Sun. March 29, 1998 in Sioux City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Moville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold E. Werley officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. McCullock Funeral Home in Moville is in charger of arrangements.
Mr. Scott was born June 7, 1931, in Salem, S.D. the son of Renold and Clara (Grase) Schat?? Scott?? He moved with his family to Maurice Iowa as a young boy.
He graduated from Maurice High School in Maurice in 1951. He then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. In the late 1950's he moved to the Sioux City area.
He married Mary Aylene Bartels Bring on June 22, 1978 in Laurel, NE. The couple moved to Moville in 1978.

He was employed in road construction following graduation from high school. He then was a salesman for Robert's Dairy from 1965 to 1980 and then an operator technician for Terra Chemical.
He was a member of Moville United Methodist CHurch and Meadows Golf Club. He enjoyed gardening, collecting tractors and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters and their husbands, Pamela and Brian Newberg of Colorado Springs, CO; Patti and Dave Christiansen of Moville and Carol and Dave Hall of Lincoln, NE.; two sons and their wives, Charles and Marion of Sedro Wooley, WA.and Richard and Lori of Denver, CO.; a sister, Phyllis Schat of Lake Mills, IA;a brother and his wife Ralph and Joyce Schat of Rapid City, S.D.; 18 grandchildren and four stepchildren, Laurelee and Kimberlee of Moville and Melissa and Dana of Sioux City.
He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Kathy; and an infant brother, Eugene.

P.S. The newspaper has Scott and Schat as family name and so not sure which is correct. Says burial in Arlington and I am assuming S.D. since no mention of armed services served.
