Fritz Stoehr died at his home about four miles northwest of Hull Tuesday July 15th 1911 shcortly after nidnight after an illness since Christmas time of lung trouble. He was born in New Brandenburg, Necklenburg Germany on April 6th 1838 and was there fore 73 years, 3 months and 19 days old when he passed away.

He came to the USA in January of 1866 and made his first home at Burlington WI. Here he was united in marriage on March 3rd of the next year to Miss Dorothy Babe. This union was blessed with four children, all of whom survive. In 1883 Fritz Stoehr took his family to Sioux County and located on a farm in Lincoln Township where he has since resided.

Deceased is survived by his wife, four children – Mrs. Lou Fie of Eureka SD, Mrs. Albert Witt of Akron IA, Heinrich of Hull and Mrs. Wm. Seager of Hull. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters in WI and one sister in Germany also survive. The funeral services were held from the home and St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lincoln township on Friday July 28th. The pall bearers were Wm. Sohl, Fr. Braun, Julius Saeger, Christ Klein, Juergen Koehnke and Heinrich Karstens. The services were conducted by Rev. Paul J. Bunge.
