William A. Zalme, 73, died Friday morning following a lingering illness.
Services were held Monday, Dec. 5 at 1:30 p.m. in the First Reformed Church in Alton. Rev. Ray Tilstra officiated. Burial was in the Nassau Township Cemetery under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mr. Zalme was born Aug. 13, 1910 at Paterson, N.J. the son of William and Jennie Zalme. He spent most of his life in the Alton vicinity where he worked as a farm laborer.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Alton.
Survivors include two brothers, Gerrit of Spokane, WA., Charles of Williamton, N.C. and a sister, Mrs. Nick (Annie) Jilderda of Sheldon, IA. He is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
