Emert Cuperus, son of Marten and Klaaske Cuperus was born in Paesend, Friesland Netherlands on August 20, 1873. He was married to Jelske Bakker on August 1, 1901. They moved to America in 1906 and settled in Midland Park, NJ and later moved to Hull, Iowa where he passed away on Jul18, 1950.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, four sons: Martin, Nick Henry and Louis; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sons and one grandson preceded him in death: Klaas in infancy, Peter in 1944; and Calvin as son of Peter in 1946.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 21, from the home and the Chr Ref. church. Interment was in Hope Cemetery.
