Clarence Croat, 67, Granville, died Dec. 23 in the Orange City hospital after a brief illness. Services were at 11 a.m. Dec. 26 in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Granville. The Rev. Edward Hoffman officiated. Rosary was recited at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 25 in Spalding Hall at Granville. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Roethler Funeral Chapel at Marcus.

Mr. Croat was born May 17, 1907 at Granville. He married Regina S. Hunt, June 24, 1930, at Granville. The couple farmed in the area until moving to Granville in 1972. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Walt (Geraldine) Schuver of Granville; Mrs. Marvin (Clarice Jean) Dahlberg of Warroad, Minn., and Mrs. Bob (Margie) Schroeder of LeMars; a son, Francis of Onamia, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Ray Schimmel of Granville, and 19 grandchildren.
