Funeral services for Mrs. William Bergsma, 58, were held here Tuesday at the home at 1 P.M. and in the First Methodist Church at 1:30 P.M. with the Reverend R.C. Van Deelen officiating. Burial was made at the Valley View Cemetery. Mrs. Bergsma died at her home August 13.

Mrs. Bergsma was born Marie Meylink, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meylink, on November 3, 1890, at Sioux Center, Iowa. She was married to William Bergsma at Carmel on February 1, 1912. To this union were born three sons, Arthur, Edwin and Earl.

Mrs. Bergsma resided in this area most of his life and she lived in Rock Valley for the past 20 years. A few years were spent on a farm in eastern South Dakota. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, the Ladies Aid of that Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, son Arthur of Rock Valley and Edwin and Earl now stationed at Navy bases in California. Other survivors include one granddaughter, Mavis Ann, two brothers, John Meylink of Rock Valley and Ben Meylink of Hull; two sisters--Mrs. Jennie Kuyper of Holland, Michigan and Mrs. William De Roos of Hull. Her parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Pallbearers at the funeral and burial services were as follows: Dick Van Eldik, Gus Calsbeek, Harold Roelfos, Dr. Ben Meerdink, John Landhuis and Richard Vande Vegie.
