Sioux Center News September 20, 1962

MRS. JACOB CLEVERINGA Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for Mrs. Jacob Clevering, 73, life-long resident of Sioux county, who passed away at the Orange City hospital Wednesday September 12.

Services were conducted by the Rev. B. J. Haan and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery with Vander PJoeg's Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were Delmar J. Van Klompenburg, Harvey Van Klompenburg, James Horstman Kenneth Horstman, Norman Horstman and Harlan Cleveringa.

Mrs. Cleveringa, nee Wilhelmina Duistermars, was born at Orange City, November I, 1888, and grew to young womanhood there. She was married to Jacob Cleveringa December 22, 1910. Mr. Cleveringa preceded her in death on April 26, 1953.

Survivors include five children- Margaret (Mrs. Evert Horstman) of Sioux Center, Clarence of Orange City. Roevina Mrs. Dick Van Klomenburg of Alton. Toney of Orange City and Alice Mrs Abe J. Van Roekel of Boyden. Also surviving her are 18 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three half brothers Bert Gerrit and Frank Van Steenwyk of Arnold’s Park, Dever and Sheldon respectively; Three half sisters, Mr.s John G. Te Kroney of Bemis SD and Mrs. Albert Menkveld of Watertown sD and Mrs. Herman Lantinga of Orange City.
