John Landegent, 66, Rock Valley resident since 1920, died Tuesday at a Sioux City hospital after an illness of six months. He was born February 21 1889, came to the United States 1911, residing in Colorado nine years before moving to Rock Valley. Mr. Landegent was a veteran of World War I. He married Annie Vander Linden March 13, 1923 in Sioux Center. He was a member of the Reformed Church of Rock Valley. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers who lived in Holland.

Survivors are the widow; five sons; Hubert, William, Cornelius and Adrian, all of Rock Valley, and John, Jr. with the army in New Jersey; three daughters; Mrs. Johanna Wynia, Mrs. Gerald Van Otterloo and Miss Helen Landegent, all of Rock Valley; four sisters in Holland and eight grandchildren. The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Sioux City and moved to the Coop Burial association in Sioux Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 in the home and 1:30 p. m. Saturday in the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley.
