Rites Thursday For Mrs. Christensen
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph church, Granville Thursday morning Jan 17 for Mrs. Anna Christensen, who passed on at the Sheldon Hospital Monday after an illness of several months. Rev. E. E. Apt, celebrant assisted by Rev. Z Reising of Alton, Rev. Wingert of Sheldon and Rev. Cullen of Sutherland read the requiem high mass. Burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery. Pallbearrs were grandsons: John and Norbert Christensen, Tony and Bill Verschoor Jr., all of Sioux City, Mick Verschoor of Hospers and LeRoy Froeman of Sheldon.

Anna Tastove was born Oct 23, 1876 at New Vienna, Iowa daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tastove. At an early age she moved with her parents to this vicinity. She was married in 1898 to John Vanderharr, who died in 1915. In 1917 she was marred to Bert (Sigurd) Christensen, and her second husband died 7 years later in 1924. Surviving are 9 Children, namely Mrs. Elmer Christensen of Sioux City; John Vanderharr of Granville, Berth Mrs. Bill Verschoor, Louise, Mrs. Peter Verschoor, Caroline, Mrs. Henry Boersma, all of Sioux City, Elizabeth, Mrs. Henry Foreman of Sheldon, Edward Vanderharr, Elmer Christensen and Peggy, Mrs. James Back, all of Granville. One daughter died in infancy. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, and 1 brother, namely Ed Tsastove of Lakefield MN; Louise Mrs. Dougherty of Sheldon, Kate Mrs. Frank Vanderharr of Merrill.
