Hawarden, Iowa- Craig Steven Endelman, 53, of rural Hawarden, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, following a sudden accident that occurred a week earlier at his home.

Funeral Service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

Craig Steven Endelman, born November 21, 1962 in Hampton, Iowa to Harry and Verla (Ball) Endelman. He was baptized December,30th, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran church, Clarksville, Iowa. His parents lived and farmed southwest of Clarksville, Iowa for many years. Craig had a very fulfilled childhood there. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1981. He traveled to Storm Lake, Iowa and took a job at IBP. There he met the love of his life, Terry Sue Sweeden. They married on June 30th, 1985 in Odebolt, Iowa. Through the years they worked and lived in many places, collecting friends and memories along the way. They were blessed with three children, Rachel Kaye, Travis Craig and Candice Beth (the twins). Craig graduated from WITCC, Sioux City Iowa in 1993 with an Associates Degree in Agribusiness, which he used to manage swine units. Eventually the family moved to South Dakota and purchased their own piece of park along the Big Sioux river. Craig loved being outdoors. He spent his time hunting, fishing and playing with his horses. If he couldn’t be outside, he could be found having a bottle of Budweiser at the local watering hole, possibly playing pool.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Terry; three children, Rachel Bielefeldt, of Phoenix, AZ., Travis Endelman and Candice (Tom) VanMuyden both of Alcester, SD.; four grandchildren, Tate David Bielefeldt, Dustin Charles Allen Endelman, Eliza June VanMuyden, and Elsie River VanMuyden; four brothers, Charles (Christy) Endelman, Waverly, IA., Keith (Brenda) Endelman, Muskegon, MI., John (Kim) Endelman, Shell Rock, IA., Dennis (special friend Jen Bentley), Waverly, IA, and one sister, Kathy (Don) Franzen, Plainfield, IA.; one brother-in-law, Stuart (Lori) Sweeden, Rome, GA.; three sister-in-laws, Marcy (Monty) Hahn, Indianola, IA., Judy (Mike) Bieret, Wall Lake, IA., Patty (Dan) Kienast, Odebolt, IA.; 28 nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Endelman, mother, Verla Endelman, one sister-in-law, Sherry (Wally) Peters, and one nephew Ryan Endelman.
