Edwin Bancroft died Wednesday afternoon at 8:20 at his home at Beresford from pneumonia after an illness of four days duration. He took sick last October with typhoid fever and was ill for five months. He took cold a few days prior to his death, which later developed into pneumonia and he was in such a weakened condition as a ressult of the typhoid fever that he was unable to overcome the ravages of the disease.

Funeral services will be held here at 3:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church, conducted by Reverend W.A. Winterstein, the pastor. Short services will be held at Beresford at one o’clock that afternoon. Interment will be made in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Edwin Bancroft was born February 21, 1888, at Lodi, Wisconsin and he died at Beresford, South Dakota, April 13, 1921, at the age of 33 years, 1 month and 22 days. He came to Hawarden with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Bancroft, when he was five years of age, and lived in this community from that time until about four years ago when moved with his family to Centerville, South Dakota. He lived there their three years and again moved with his family to Beresford where they lived until his death.

His father preceded in death him in death in 1898. He married Miss Beulah Maxin of Dehigh, Iowa, on Thanksgiving Day 1909. Four children were born to them, one of whom, Harold, the first born, died when but a month old. Since he moved to Beresford, the deceased has been engaged as a contractor putting in sewers.

Besides his wife he is survived by three children, two daughters and one son, Avis, aged 9, Adris, age 4, and Wayne, aged 7. He also leaves to mourn his death his mother, Mts. Jas. Murray, and his stepfather, Jas. Murray of Hawarden, three brothers, Ernest of this city, of Tracy, Minnesota, and Charles, of Lone Pine, California; a half brother, George Murray of this city, and six sisters, Myrtle and Mrs. Harry Mullen of this city, Mrs. George Stout, of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Mrs. Clyde Court Wright of Sioux City; Mrs. Ollie Cook, of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. N.L. Storts of Redwood, Falls, Minnesota.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the sorrowing mother and brothers and sister in their great bereavement.
