From the Rock Valley Bee, July 17, 1930:

MRS. REGINA PFEFFERLE IS CALLED BY DEATH

Mrs. Regina Pfefferle, whose death was briefly mentioned in last week's Bee, passed away Wednesday morning, July 9, at 3:15 o'clock, aged seventy-eight years, four months and seven days. Although Mrs. Pfefferle had not been in good health for some time past, she was not taken seriously ill until a week or more before her death, her death being due to complications caused by her advanced age.

Mrs. Pfefferle was born in Germany, April 2, 1852, where her early life was spent and she grew to womanhood. She came to this country with her family in June 1881, locating first in Wisconsin, and shortly afterwards moving to near Boyden, and a short time later, the family moved onto a farm four miles northeast of Rock Valley, where she has since made her home, having lived on the place for forty years.

Her husband passed away seventeen years ago and since that time she has made her home with her son, W. D. Pfefferle. Mrs. Pfefferle leaves one son and three daughters, W. D. Pfefferle, of near Rock Valley, Mrs. Otto Hinsch, of George, Iowa, Mrs. C. B. Antritter, of Watertown, So. Dak. and Mrs. Emory Scharff, of Freeport, Montana.

Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the Lutheran church north of Hull. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their time of sorrow.

Four years later, in 1881, Mr. and Mrs. Pfefferle came to America, settling in Wisconsin for a short time, later moving to Sioux county, Iowa. In 1890 they moved to their own farm near Rock Valley. She passed away peacefully on the 9th day of July, attaining an age of 78 years, 3 months and 7 days. The funeral was held from the German Lutheran church northeast of Hull, Saturday.
