Lillian Listen, 74, a lifelong resident of Ireton, died Monday, Jan. 30, 1995, at a Sioux City hospital following an illness of several years. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Ireton with the Rev. Perry Schefelker officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Ireton. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Liston was born April 25, 1920 in rural Sioux County near Ireton, the daughter of Chris and Anna (Heuer) Westergard. She attended rural schools and graduated from the Ireton High School in 1939. She married Lloyd Liston Nov. 26, 1940, at the Lutheran parsonage at Ireton. The couple farmed southwest of Ireton for about 40 years. Mrs. Liston was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wives, Allen and Dana of Cedar Rapids, Lenny and Becky of rural Ireton and Dale and Jan of Fremont Neb.; six grandchildren, Carie and Cami Liston of Cedar Rapids Carmen and Tara Liston of Ireton and Wendy and Chris Liston of Fremont three brothers, Jess Westergard and his wife, Darlene of Ireton and Albert Westergard and his wife, Marie of Albany, Calif.; two sisters and their husbands, Viola and Marion Jones of Chester, SD., and Wilma and Daryl Liston of Sherburn, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lawrence and a sister, Mildred Johnson. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Finch, Doug Liston, Kelly Jones, Mark Degen, Randy Westergard and Greg Liston
