Stephen John Ames
Stephen "Steve" John Ames, 34, of Grass Lake, MI, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at Chelsea Community Hospital, Chelsea, MI, on July 15, 1994, after a sudden illness. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A prayer service was held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, and from 12 to 1:15p.m. Tuesday.

Steve was born September 15,1959, in Titusville, PA, he graduated in 1978 from Regis High School and received three Associates Degrees from Jackson Community College in 1993. Steve married Rose Marie Oldenkamp on September 27, 1986, in Sioux Center. He was an automotive instructor for the Jackson Community College in Jackson, MI. Steve was a very loving and caring person who will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Rose Marie; his mother Janette of Marion; two brothers, Joel of Cedar rapids, and Luke of Marion; two sisters; Sue and her husband George Young and Ruth and her husband Gary Finney, all of Marion; a brother-in-law, Joel Oldenkamp; three sisters-in-law, Celeste Ames, and Melinda and Georgeana Oldenkamp; his father and mother-inlaw, Robert and Diana Oldenkamp; his grandparents, Pansy Oldenkamp and Frieda Rehder; five nephews and two nieces; and his dog, DiDi. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil, and two brothers, Paul and
Kenneth.
