Jeanette M. "Jennie" Fleming, 103, of Hawarden, died Sunday, June 19, 1994, at the Hawarden Community Hospital. Services were Saturday, June 25, at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden with the Rev. George Henriksen officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation was Friday,with a prayer service, at the funeral home.

Jennie was born December 23, 1890, in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of James and Laura (Jackson)Woodward, She moved to Hawarden at the age of 1 and attended school in Hawarden. She married Charles Fleming November 7, 1917, at Albert Lea, MN. The couple made their home in Hawarden. He died September 27, 1954. Mrs. Fleming was a member and had been active in the First Baptist Church of Hawarden, the Order of Eastern Star, Woodman Circle, Royal Neighbors and the American Legion.

Survivors include a brother, Paul Woodward and his wife, Jiggs of Riverton, WY; a sister, Nellie M.Templer of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Best and Maybelle Page.
