Irving Jamtgaard, 77, of Hawarden died Friday, November 12, 1993, at an Alcester nursing home. Services were Monday, November 15, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. Loren Vogler officiating. Burial was in Grace Hills Cemetery. Visitation and prayer service were held Sunday, November 14, at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home, Hawarden.

Mr. Jamtgaard was born March 18, 1916, on a farm in Union County, SD, son of Ole and Marie (Rambrandt) Jamtgaard. He was baptized at Roseni Lutheran Church and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Alcester. He married Helen Mohlman January 7, 1941, in Sioux City. They lived at Hawarden, where he worked as a carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Dennis and Paula of Aberdeen, SD, and Darold and Diane of Emmetsburg; two daughters and their husbands, Judy and Harlan Bullman of Ireton, and Janene and John Breugem of Hawarden; a brother and his wife, Alvin and Nora Jamtgaard of Shingle Springs, CA; two sisters, Lillian Harry of Menlo Park, CA; and Margaret Bly of Sioux Falls, SD; ten grandchildren and three great-granddaughters, Crystal, Shelby and Amanda.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
