Harold E. Treiber, who lived most of his life in Omak, WA, died at age 76, October 22, 1993, at Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak. He was born June 7, 1917, to Martin and Ella Degen Treiber in South Dakota. He was raised in Iowa and moved to Omak in 1939. He married Evah Fleming June 28, 1960, in Omak. He worked for Biles- Coleman Lumber Co. for 25 years. Mr. Treiber liked to garden and plow gardens for others. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Hawarden, and the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union.
Survivors include his wife, at home; two daughters, Bethel Carpenter, Banks, OR; and Jody Daubcrt, Tonasket; two step-sons, Donald and Ronald Fleming, Rock Island; a brother, Ray Treiber, Omak; three sisters, Lou Barker, Okanogan; and Florence Feikema and Donna Miller, both of Hawarden; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and his parents.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, October 26, at Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or any charity. Precht-Harrison Chapel, Omak, was in charge of arrangements.
