Jason was a husband to Jill for 24 years and a father to Karlie (21) and Blake (18). Jason loved his wife and kids above all else and loved nothing more than to be at their games and events, go on trips with them and just spend time with them. In addition to coaching everything his own kids participated in, he dedicated a lot of his time to coaching and investing in the lives of many other kids. Jason took great joy in being the assistant track and football coach at Hinton High School. He also enjoyed being active and staying fit, along with hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was a God-fearing man of great integrity and had a contagious energy that everyone loved being around.
Jason was born in Sioux Center, IA on May 11, 1971. He attended Rock Valley Community School and then went on to the University of South Dakota where he played football all four years. After graduation he became an insurance agent for American Republic Insurance Company. He later became a manager for the company and the success that he had in his career enabled him to have the flexible schedule to do the things he truly loved.
He is survived by his wife, Jill (Van Kley), his daughter, Karlie and her fiance, Jared McCoy, his son, Blake; his parents, Betty DeBruin (John) and Jake Vande Hoef, his brothers Doug (Bonnie) Vande Hoef, Randy Vande Hoef, Bob (Nancy) Vande Hoef, Darwin (Kara) Vande Hoef, and his sisters Barb (Mark) Van Grootheest and Susan Vande Hoef, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family. The funds will be used to honor Jason in a special way with the Hinton Community High School athletics.Source: Meyer Brothers Funeral Chapel online obituary.
