Jason Dale Top, 41, of Akron passed away on Dec. 25, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital following a 10-year battle with undiagnosed Addison's disease.
A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heartland Community Baptist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gene Stockton officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Jason was born on May 5, 1974, in Denver, Colo., to James and Arlene (Van Bruggen) Top. He grew up in Orange City, Iowa, and attended Unity Christian High School, graduating in 1992.
He married Christine Mills on Oct. 18, 2003. He currently worked at Vander Kooi Trucking.
He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, amateur go-kart racing and yelling at the Denver Broncos. Jason worked hard to come to his faith, which meant the world to him.
Survivors include his wife, Chris Top; a son, Cole Mills; his mother and stepfather, Arlene & Bob Feekes; a sister, Jodi Top; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, James; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
