Death of Ralph Dowdey

Ralph Dowdey died at 6:30 last evening at the home of his mother, Mrs. Anna Dowdey, after a short illness. He had been ailing for about a month, but his condition became quite critical last week and he was taken to the hospital for an examination and probably an operation. He was found too weak to withstand an operation and was taken back to his mother's home.

The deceased was born in Hawarden April 18, 1892, and has always lived in this vicinity. Besides his mother he leaves four brothers and one sister to mourn his death. The brothers are Harry, Guy and Roy of Hawarden, and Charles of Clara City, Minn. His sister, Mrs. Earl Jefferson lives in Sioux City. His father, Henry Dowdey, is a resident of Illinois. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
