From the Rock Valley Bee, August 14, 1914:

Mrs. Ira Steenhoven died Wednesday [Aug. 12] at her home near Sioux Center. We are not able to give further particulars at this time. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Reformed church in Sioux Center at two o'clock. The Steenhoven family lived near Rock Valley for several years having moved away from here last spring. They have a number of friends who will be grieved to hears the sad news.

Last week Mrs. A. Steenhoven, living three miles east of here, died on Wednesday. She suffered seven years with diabetes. The funeral took place last Friday afternoon.

From the Sioux Center Nieuwsblad, August 19, 1914:

Verleden week Woensdag overleed in den ouderdom van 48 jaar Mrs. A. Steenhoven aan diabetes. De teraardebestelling had Vrijdag plaats. Wij betuigen onze deelneming met de echtgenoot en kinderen, met dit voor hen zoo smartelijk verlies.

Wednesday of last week Mrs. A. Steenhoven died of diabetes at the age of 48 years. The funeral took place Friday. We express our condolences to the husband and children for their grievous loss.

Mrs. Arie Steenhoven Sr. died Monday after an extended illness. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at her home north of town. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery.

Mt. and Mrs. Jno. Struyk and family attended the funeral of the lady's mother, Mrs. Arie Steenhoven, near Boyden Wednesday.

A quick search of the 1910 U.S. Census did not find her in Sioux County that year.
