Eva I. Brown, 89, died Wednesday, March 22, at a Sioux City nursing home following a long illness. Services were Monday, March 27, at Riverside United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert W. Lemmermann officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown, the former Eva I. Johnson, was born September 28, 1899, in Hawarden. She was raised on the family farm in Hawarden. She married Jesse Brown July 8,1919, at Canton, SD. She also lived at Elk Point and Brookings before moving to Sioux City in 1932. Mr. Brown died January 22, 1962, in Sioux City. She was a seamstress for Aalfs Manufacturing before retiring in 1965. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Marvin (Bud) Brown and Walter Brown, both of Sioux City, and Lloyd Brown, of Mesa, AZ; four daughters, Mrs. Luella Olson and Mrs. Patricia Clark, both of Sioux City, Mrs. Emil (Leona) Claussen, of Bella Vista, AK and Mrs. Frank (Etta) Doherty of Fort Scott, KS; 25 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter; a grandson, Frank; a granddaughter, Madonna; three sisters and four brothers.
