Alton Democrat of August 27, 1910

A man by the name of Charles S. Henwood stepped off the train here Thursday noon, being too sick to proceed on his journey. He lay down beneath the trees west of the depot and when the officers found him he was in a bad shape, suffering with cholera morbus.

They took hime to the town hall where he was put to bed and on Sunday noon he died. He was forty nine years old and had a home at Lincoln Nebraska. His wife having died there he went on the road and for work cleaned cisterns at different towns. He has two sons and a sister living one son being at school in Chicago and the other being with a circus.

His sister Mrs. C. F. Griffith liven at Bucklin Kansas. Being a Roman Catholic the funeral services were held here Monday from St. Anthony’s Catholic church and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery.

(according to the death entry Sioux County records he was Charles S. Henwood widower, born 3/20/1861 died Aug 19, 1910 buried Hospers IA no parents listed. From the sister’s name tracked down Nellie Henwood living in Bucklin KS married to Chester F. Griffith. Parents of Charles were Thomas J. Henwood 1825-1901 and Amanda Woodard 1820-1895 )
