Venetta Schneider, 75, of Hudson died Wednesday, July 20, 1988 in a hospital in Sioux Falls. Services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, 1988, in the Hudson Lutheran Church with the Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Burial was in Eden Cemetery. Casket bearers were Gerrit Havelaar, Sidney Brown, Ray Hazel, Ted Quarnstrom, Robert Torkelson and Lonnie De Raad.

Mrs. Schneider, the former Venetta Walsten, was born April 11, 1913, in Minnesota. She lived in South Dakota and Hawarden, before graduating from Hudson High School. She married George Schneider June 27, 1937, in Union County. The couple farmed near Hudson until his death January 1, 1958. She lived in Inglewood, CA, from 1960 to 1962 when she returned to Hudson where she lived the remainder of her life with exception of 10 years (1964-1974) when she lived in Sioux Falls. Mrs. Schneider was a member of the Hudson Lutheran Church and the church circle.

Survivors include twin sons, Lester of Hawarden and Lyle of Marcus; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda De Roon of Hull; a brother, Donald Walsten of Bellflower, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Wilier of Tucson, AZ, and Mrs. Margie Fish of Bellflower; seven grandchildren : and four greatgrandchildren.
